Origins Skin Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay Review

Origins Skin Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay

As someone with dry skin, I have never been a big fan of clay masks. Although renowned for unclogging pores and drawing out impurities, the way it completely dries out the skin is something I just don’t favour. So I was very excited to stumble upon Origins Skin Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay, a clay mask that is more gentle and cater for people with drier skin.

Origins Skin Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay is a 2-in-1 dual action product that both deep cleanse and exfoliates the skin to reveal a clearer, more refined and glowing complexion. It contains Mediterranean Rose Clay, which thoroughly cleanses the skin, Canadian Willow Herb and exfoliating Jojoba beads, which gently exfoliate and refine skin texture. Here’s a quick rundown on the ingredients and what they do so you can understand why this clay mask is different from the rest:

  • Detoxifying Rose Clay deep cleanses the skin by absorbing excess oil, dirt and general impurities as well as unclogging pores ‘without’ drying out the skin.
  • Canadian Willow Herb is known for its ability to combat dullness, restore skin’s clarity amd luminosity.
  • Persian Silk Tree is an anti-irritant that helps skin deal with stress.
  • Jojoba Beads acts as a gentle exfoliator to slough off the skin without irritating it.

As with any other masks, I use it after my usual cleansing routine to ensure that my face is clean and completely free of makeups. I apply the mask  on to my clean dry skin, covering my entire face but making sure to avoid the eye area, then leave on for 10-15 minutes. The mask has a lovely creamy texture and pleasant cooling sensation when applied, and of course my favourite of all is that it’s pink and has a beautiful calming rose scent. To remove the mask, I use wet fingertips and massage my face in circular motion to activate the jojoba beads, then rinse off and follow with my usual serum and moisturiser.

Origins Skin Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay reminds me of GlamGlow Power Mud Dual Cleanse Treatment Mask (which is also a clay mask with exfoliating beads), but with half the prize (£23) and to be honest I much much prefer the Origins one. With Origins Rose Clay Mask I ‘immidiately’ notice the difference to my skin after just one use; my skin is clearer, brighter and just looking very luminious and healthy overall. Unfortunately same can’t be said about the Glamglow, which, despite the hefty price tag, did not deliver any immediate results nor have I seen any noticeable changes even after a few uses. So if you are considering investing into something like GlamGlow I would highly recommend you give Origins Skin Retexturising Mask with Rose Clay a try first, it is definitely a clear winner in my opinion.
