SmashBox Photo Finish Primer Water Review

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water

I’ve been a faithful user of the original Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer for as long as I can remember. In my opinion it’s one of the best primers that manages to minimise pores, blurs out any blemishes or imperfections, creates a completely smooth base for my makeup, which means coverage is more flawless and longer lasting. Last year Smashbox launched the new Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water, which is a multitasking water that’s supposed to prime, hydrate, set and refresh your complexion, and to be honest, I wasn’t at all interested. I was kind of skeptical seeing how it looks just like fancy water and doubted it would do anything more. I guess my curiosity was piqued when I saw both Nikkie from NikkieTutorials, and Jaclyn Hill recently used Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water in almost all of their tutorials, and both sing its praises.  So of course I couldn’t help but popped into Boots and grab myself a bottle.

I wasn’t disappointed, to say the least. The primer water does everything the original photo finish foundation primer does and more. And after further research into the ingredients contained in the primer water and their benefits, I’m even more impressed. Smashbox Primer Water is free of silicone, alcohol and oil, but it’s packed with revitalising electrolytes to wake up skin, hydrate and restore moisture, which is a bonus for my combination to dry skin, and also boost radiance. It also contains transdermal magneisum chloride, which is extremely beneficial for the skin, so with prolonged use, you are doing your skin a great service in the long run.

I’ve been using Smashbox Primer Water every day since I bought it and no matter what foundation I wear, it looks amazing. Because my skin can get quite dehydrated, especially at this time of year, there were days when my foundation would look cakey and dry, but the primer water completely takes that away and it always gives my skin a nice and dewy finish. Smashbox Primer Water also makes my makeup last from morning until night and I notice that even when I don’t use my holy grail Urban Decay All-Nighter Setting Spray, my makeup still stays put throughout the day.

Highly recommend you to grab this product if you can, you won’t regret it!
