To me blush is all about making the rest of the face brighter and fresher. I’ve had my fair share of experimenting with blush colours, from baby pink to bright neon pink to purple, to name a few. But my favourite shade of all has got to be a peach blush. For me, peach is more flattering than the pinks that most of us wear out of habit. It warms up your skin, giving it more life, and also counteracts greyness to brighten up dull tired complexion. Needless to say I have quite a collection of peachy, coral blushes that I love to wear throughout the year.
I’ll start with my recent purchase, which is Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso. It is a gorgeous coral peach tone with a hint of shimmer, which I absolutely adore because it gives a slightly strobing effect and makes your cheeks appear fuller and your face instantly brightened. The shade is so flattering and together with the shimmer gives your face an appearance of a beautiful glow from within. Luminoso is what I’ve been wearing every single day for the past 2 weeks and completely obsessed with (I might do a separate review on this soon so watch this space!)
Clinique Cheek Blush Pop in Melon Pop is what I tend to gravitate towards on days that I want to do a quick and natural looking makeup. It is a melon peach tone, which goes on quite sheer but you can build it up to the intensity that you want. I love that it looks almost like your naturally flushed cheek, very natural and flattering (I did a full review on this in my previous post).
Having quite a dry skin, there are days when a cream blush feels more comfortable to wear and sits better on my skin. My current two favourites in the peach tone are Benefit Majorette Cream Blush and Becca Beach Tint in Grapefruit. I’m sure we are all familiar with Benefit Majorette, which was very popular when it first launched last year. It’s an orange peach tone and has a cream to powder texture that leaves a gorgeous satin finish to the skin. The colour is a real pick me up shade that immediately brightens your face and complexion not to mention it has a nice fruity scent that makes it even more pleasant to use. Becca Beach Tint in Grapefruit is a cream blush that you dispense from a tube and has quite a sheer finish but again you can definitely build up the colour to the intensity you need. I always prefer a sheer finish in a blush because that means I am in control of how much blush I apply. The colour is a really flattering apricot peach and again really does a great job in brighten up your complexion.
